Seek Ethical Advice to Fix Car Dent & Problems

On the theme of ethical services, I came across this video.

If you are thinking of buying a car and it has a small dent, think again. This  video is titled Retail PDR - non repairable dents and bad PDR. Worth a watch and share with family and friends.

If the professionals are not willing to touch mending these vehicles, I hate to think how many people would ignore the reasons what are addressed here, seeing a way to make some cash.

In this video Scotty Kilner fixes a broken lock. He identifies costs to buy new parts. With videos on several mechanical issues, Scotty provides an important service to people online.

Spark plugs covered in oil - problem and how to fix it.

'Scotty Kilmer, mechanic for the last 45 years, shows how you can fix a car's engine that you keep having to add engine oil to. It can be as easy as replacing a cheap PCV valve, or as expensive as needing a full engine overhaul. Scotty shows how you can find out.'

Fixing Tough Head Gasket Leaks using Steel Seal.

This is what some people say about Steel Seal.  http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=279981
The internet allows people to search forums and even post questions. An unlimited resource of information and people sharing their expertise is a help for people who just do not know.

THESE SEALERS SHOULD NOT BE USED WITH TURBO.

There is another product on the market - K Seal. This product says 'just shake and use' - it needs rigerous shaking and pour into radiator.

The problem is if there is consequence, If a product is being used for engine maintenance of to fix a problem that could become a greater problem later on. That is the weigh up. Would you pay between £10-£100 to fix a problem that could cost £500-£600 even more.

Check for cylinder head gasket damage before laying out any money - By taking off the radiator cap (on a cold engine) it is easy to see bubbling taking place, There is also a funnel that can be used to see and this is shown in the video. There are professional kits also available.

Car dents, engine oil leaks and blown gaskets are the three issues that come to mind when people are buying, selling and also maintaining a car. How to fix or not to fix this is the question.

Much to my annoyance, I had not topped up the water on the wipers before putting it through an MOT and it was a fail. A precheck list would let people know to be prepared in advance.

Mechanics who do not offer ethical advice and guidance in maintaining vehicles can also contribute to extra costs and more severe problems down the line. There are cars on the road that have over 100,000 miles on the clock - Scotty Kilner showed his car has over 200,000 miles. These are people who have maintained their engines. Profit must not be the motivational drive by mechanics.

Vehicles get us from A to B. There are people travelling thousands of miles for their work. Once being a heavy car user the value of having a safe and reliable car to drive is also emphasised

This article is written not for personal recomendation to resolve a problem. My emphasis is to promote ethical standards and encourage people to seek ethical mechanical advice. There are many cases where preventative measures can be taken to avoid bigger problems. Fixing a car can be costly.
