U2 Bono and Family Pray to Risen Jesus

The Daily Mail report on  U2 Bono and his family faith.

When asked who he prays to, Bono replied: 'To Christ', later he clarifies this to be the 'Risen Jesus'.

'In an interview with Ireland's RTE One, the rock star said: 'I pray to get to know the will of God, because then the prayers have more chance of coming true, I mean, that’s the thing about prayer,' Bono told interviewer Gay Byrne.

He added: 'We don't do it in a very lofty way in our family. It’s just a bunch of us on the bed, usually, we’ve a very big bed in our house. We pray with all our kids, we read the Scriptures, we pray.'

Speaking about church he says 'sometimes we just slip into church as it's ending and find some peace and quiet and say our own prayers.'

He said: '[Jesus] went around saying he was the Messiah. That’s why he was crucified. He was crucified because he said he was the Son of God.

'So, he either, in my view, was the Son of God or he was nuts... And I find it hard to accept that whole millions and millions of lives, half the Earth, for 2,000 years have been touched, have felt their lives touched and inspired by some nutter. I just, I don’t believe it.'

His faith has been an ongoing factor in his advocacy work, and it even cropped up in the lyrics of some of his most famous U2 hits including I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Tomorrow and The Wanderer.

'When Bono and his family want to worship, they read Scriptures, go to church or sometimes just pile into bed and pray, he says.' (The ideal place)

Bono Talks About The Song Jesus Christ

It has been shown that territories and streets are named for a reason. In Bolton the whole country is mapped out in a small area. In Little Lever all the racecourses are identified by road names on an estate and this is certainly not a coincidence. Nothing is coincidence at all.

Where the Streets Have no Name) Live at the Rose Bowl

With Prince Street, Duke Street and Palace street closeby in Bolton - there is confusion with Ukrania today. On All Saints Street stands the Ukranian Catholic Church - across the road is Crown Street. If the crown was a simple circlet of flowers, would people be fighting wars for this?

One day people will be free from the system of oppression. If you think this is not so - how many laws for profit are made, fines and courts that enforce these. People think they are free - Go past a red light with a camera and see a fine through your door, speeding and parking tickets too. Stop start, go slow, park - there is a structure of control taking people as fools and they know it too.

I believe that the system is operating in a dangerous path with officials who are not aware and awake. People with no care or conscience are a liability to humanity - especially in official roles. One police officer said 'the fines pay our wages'. They need to remember with taking oaths ommitting God that they have no protection whatsoever when being under the authority of man - neither do people!

The rapid return of people to faith is not by accident.

'On 24 May 2007, the  National Constitutional Center in Philadelphia announced that Bono would receive the Philadelphia Liberty Medal on 27 September 2007 for his work to end world poverty and hunger. On 28 September 2007, in accepting the Liberty Medal, Bono said, "When you are trapped by poverty, you are not free. When trade laws prevent you from selling the food you grew, you are not free ... When you are a monk in Burma this very week, barred from entering a temple because of your gospel of peace ... well, then none of us are truly free". Bono donated the $100,000 prize to the organisation. '

"Bono has admirably dedicated himself to eradicating AIDS in Africa and extreme poverty and shows how this belief can have a long-lasting impact," says Bill Novelli, McDonough School of Business professor, about the U2 singer and world activist against AIDS and poverty."
